I'm going to add to this post throughout the weekend when I complete additional challenges for the Operation Write Home National Scrapbooking Day Virtual Card Making Party, or OWH NDS VCMP, as it's affectionately known.
I took a 45 minute dash into the craft room to make these so I could FOCUS on writing my paper for grad school. Focus, Kathryn, focus!!!
Challenge 1: Make a Missing You card for ODBD's May challenge. Look, Ma, it's a masculine love card, too!
Challenge #2, hosted by Paula: Make a kid card using a sketch. The sketch I chose is one of the bonus sketches from the OWH/OSH hop. I printed them out, so I don't have a link for you, sorry.
Challenge #3, hosted by Sandy: Make a romantic card using a tutorial. I went back to the embossed flower tutorial from well over a year ago for this card. Quick and easy!

Wow, Kathryn! All three great cards in 45 minutes?! That's awesome and inspiring - I'm going to see what I can do today too. I love the texture and the colors on the missing you card, the bright colors and cheerful sentiment with the cute astronaut on the kid's card and all those swirls on the love card! Thank you for spending a little focused time away from your grad paper to support OWH - your cards will Rock our heroes and their families! :)
ReplyDeleteNice job on all of these Kathryn! I agree masculine love cards can be tough. The astronaut and sentiment combo is great and I am so glad you reminded me of that embossed flower tutorial. I really liked that and will now have to use it again. I think I need to create a 'tutorial' reminder binder or something. :) Thanks for joining in on my challenge for the VCMP today and good luck with the paper writing.
ReplyDeleteSuper job!!!! That image on the missing you card is darling!
ReplyDeletePretty pretty cards. Especially like the masculine love card, the image is perfect, and the distressed background and sentiment. Well done!!!
ReplyDeleteNice cards...also good to see the masculine ones!
ReplyDeleteBeen there done that on the paper writing. Thirty plus years later, I'm still doing it with book deadlines, lol. Good luck! I have that umbrella stamp and never thought of using it for a miss you card, so thanks for that idea. That space kid is WONDERFUL!! It's so hard to find cards that work for boys. And the romantic card is lovely. I'm also way envious of your speed!
ReplyDeleteWTG Kathryn...the first card is my fave...the colors I think. Sorry to be late on commenting!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the OWH 6x6 tutorial. I love all the ideas and cards.
