Use your imagination a little on this card, please. The Midweek Throwdown from Wednesday AND the June ODBD challenge was to use water on our cards. It's implied on my card, I guess!
The stamps are by Studio G (sentiment) and Inkadinkado (bird). Coloring is with Copics B0000, W3, B21, E11, Y17, and YR04. The background paper is what I started with on this card. I have been ever so slowly using this DCWV Pocket of Posies mat stack and I decided tonight to see if I could finish it up in the next few days. It's been hanging around at least four years, so it's time!

Put your thongs on!
I have a great co-worker whose favorite expression is "Put your big girl panties on and deal with it." She says this to females AND males and it always cracks me up! When I saw this stamp set, I splurged and bought it so I could send her a card. She's been having a difficult time lately and I think this will bring her some cheer.
The stamp set is from There She Goes Clear Stamps. This was the first set I'd ordered from them and I think the company is fairly new. They offer lots of offbeat stamps, so if you're looking for something outside of the mainstream, take a peek at what they have to offer. I loved their math and science themed sets, too, but didn't purchase them. They're on my wishlist.
The images are colored with Bic Mark-its. The polka dotted flip flops are popped on dimensional foam. The scallop was purchased already cut and is by The Paper Company. I set this card up like a postcard, so I simply wrote on the back.

VCMP #4- Beachy Thinking of You
This challenge was to make a beach-themed thinking of you card. While I have a couple of beach stamps, they lend themselves to making a scene and I never like what I make with them. Instead, I grabbed this decade-old die cut, mounted it on white to help it look a bit cleaner, and placed it on a card based on Sketch 42. The stamp is my KI Memories, the brads are from Colorbok, and the papers are from K&Co.
Cards shipped to OWH in 2012: none thus far, but my box is filling up nicely!

Hambo Hoedown for OWH, Sweet Treats, and Michelle's Scrap Challenges
This is my first Hambo Hoedown card. Lots of OWHers participate weekly and I love seeing what they come up with. I'm just not that into digis, yet, so I hadn't taken the plunge. But, since Hambo had a special challenge on OWH Stars and Stamps, I decided to try it out.
This is also for the "Sweet Treats" challenge on OWH. Lemonade is a great sweet treat!
Michelle's Scrap is also sponsoring a challenge for OWH and she left it open as an "anything goes" challenge. :)
I used one of the two free digis on their page, this cute "cool cat." I printed it out and colored it with Bic Mark-its. I paired it with a set of clear stamps from Studio G, some gingham ribbon, and a brad. I couldn't forget the Glossy Accents on the glasses, ice cubes, and flip-flops!

Sweet
I found some more felt embellishments at JoAnn's last week. I have a few left, but here are the cards I've got so far. I used a coupon, so these ice cream cones were under 5 cents each! It feels great to make a cute card for very little. The "sweet" stamp is from a $2 Inkadinkado set found at Big Lots. By the way, can you tell how much I love my nesties? I'm so glad I indulged and let myself by the ovals sets to start.

Flip flop!
What better way to ring in the beginning of summer than to create some flip-flop cards! These cute embellishments were part of the $2 Big Lots grab bags I mentioned in a previous post. They actually have foam soles!!! Paired with my nesties and a new aloha stamp from Hampton Arts (also $2 at Big Lots), I was able to make a dozen of these cuties, two of each design shown below. My favorite is the yellow and green color combo.
