OWH Sketch #168

This year, OWH has been collecting sketches from its cardmakers by way of finding great cards on their blogs and asking permission to turn them into sketches.  Cora made the cards that inspired today's Sketch #168.
Paper by KI Memories (Pet Shop), Stamp by SU (Much Appreciated, 2005)

I made a slight change to the size so that the patterned paper was 3x3 instead of 3x3.25.  I wanted to use up some patterned 12x12 papers and not have left over scraps.  I cut up three whole sheets plus a partial sheet I had left from another project.  I made 28 of these cards with various patterns.

This sketch was fun, easy, and used up paper- a trifecta!  I'll be making a lot more of these, I'm sure.

This was also a great start to my next OWH box.  Last night, I packed up a box that I'll send on Tuesday.  It has 311 cards and 96 Any Hero notes written by my students.

------
Cards shipped to OWH in 2013: 340 blank and 140 AnyHero (as of 1/7/13)
Cards shipped to OWH in 2012: 1284 blank and 218 AnyHero
Cards shipped to OWH in 2011: 1695

  4. I love your paper choices! I went exactly by the sketch the first time around, but decided to reduce to 3" so I could use all the paper. I'm even going to make myself use the ones I don't really like. :) That won't be easy!

  5. You are SO right about using them at 3x3" size so there are no leftovers. Your paper choices look so good together! (off to go hack up some 12x12's) :)

  7. Terrific cards and I love the color and paper choices. Having the elements on a white background really makes the colors and patterns stand out. Love your idea to change the size to 3x3... great way to use paper without leftovers. Thanks for playing!

  8. Great cards! I like your idea of 3x3 inch squares, that works really well with the 6x6 pads and 12x12 papers I have. I made my card's pattern paper sizes 3x2.75 inches to keep them rectangular, but after seeing your cards, squares look just as nice. Thanks for sharing your idea!

  9. Wonderful cards and nice font on the sentiment! I borrowed your idea of cutting 12x12 paper into 3" squares. What a great way to use up the 12x12 paper I have purchased over the years. TFS.
