OWH Sketches #119 and #60

Here's this week's S&S Sketch #119 and also #60.  I'm still working on my goal of doing all of the OWH sketches during 2012.  As of now, I have 85 completed.  If you're looking for great sketches, check here

I had started this card earlier in the week and got as far as mounting the patterned paper background on the red cardstock and stamping the image.  Then I was stumped and put the card aside.  Insert today's sketch, and I found a way to put the card together.

Sketch 60 was one that stumped me originally, probably because I had a terrible excuse for a paper trimmer then and no 1" square punch.  With both of those challenges overcome, I was able to put this card together pretty easily.  The patterns on this card are all from the same 12x12 sheet.

All papers today are from the K&Co Best Of stack, stamps by Inkadinkado ("Happy Birthday") and Michael's (Ferris wheel), border punch by Fiskars.

Thanks for visiting!

  3. Nice cards Kathryn! I remember that sketch with the 9 squares well. It was a challenging one for me too. I love the fun, retro feel in both of these.

  4. Great papers in the first card, they really compliment the ferris wheel stamp. I also had trouble with sketch 60, I like what you did to get around it.

  8. Wow! I like the colors and especially the Ferris wheel! When I see this, I can smell the cotton candy and taste the candied apples at the neighborhood carnival.

  12. Your cards are terrific. I have been "saved by the sketch" myself a few times and it is pretty cool to have a great card like your first card come together that way.
