Sherry hosted the first VCMP Rebel Challenge. She challenged us to use paper piecing. I think the best images I have for paper piecing are my Unity Stamp Company stamps. They have thick lines so I don't have to be perfect with my cuts and they are sized large enough that I can cut out the pieces and glue them down without going nuts.
I chose to paper piece this baby carriage. This card actually won't go to Operation Write Home. There's not a need for baby cards as the shippers never know which units might have people who need to send a baby card. Instead, this card will go with a shower gift to one of my many friends and family members who are expecting. It's babypalooza around here!
I added some punched wheels with Making Memories brads, sponged clouds behind the carriage, a little Offray ribbon, and some Spellbinders cuts to make this all come together.
Thanks for hosting a fun challenge, Sherry! And thanks to anyone visiting! :)

Kathryn, this card is just precious. Someone will certainly treasure this one. I love those wheels and your paper piecing came out spot on. Great job.
ReplyDeleteDonna is right on - this card is gorgeous! It appears to be one that you put some serious thought into, even if you didn't. The colors are great but what I really appreciate is the sentiment because it will work for our deployed heroes who may be a bit too late for a "welcome new baby" type sentiment but will be right on time with this one! Great job!
ReplyDeleteHi Kathryn! I love this stamp and how you made it a strong focal point with the unique die cut layers behind it! So darling with the hearts on the wheels, delicate bow and polka dot DP! Great paper piecin'!
ReplyDeleteLol it's baby palooza around here too! What was in the water?!? Love your card. What a fun idea!
ReplyDeleteOh, this is just darling! I love everything about it, and the hearts on the wheels are precious!! You've also got me thinking I HAVE to try that cloud stamping technique. Great paper piecing. (The one I chose was so much easier!)
ReplyDeleteGreat card-- love the soft colors and the dies you used are awesome!
