OWH Sketch 124

I used OWH Sketch 124 for the design of this card.  The papers are from the K&Co Boy Scouts stack- a great sources of manly papers.  I want to put a sentiment in the upper left corner of the square, but I can't figure out which sentiment to use.  I've got tons to pick from- any suggestions?  If other people think it's good as is, I don't mind leaving it, but to me that corner is calling out for attention! At the bottom, I tied some cotton twine that I dyed with Distress Inks to add to the rustic feel of the card.

UPDATE:  Thanks to the caring advice of many who left comments, I went back through my stamps and found an appropriately-sized "hello" stamp.  I attached the sentiment with a brad and cut the ends to look like a banner.  To my eye, the card looks finished now whereas before it didn't.  Thanks for the suggestions!

  1. a simple hello would be a great sentiment - and could be used for any occasion.

    Thanks for supporting OWH

  4. I love the camping theme and the way you tied the twine. If I was going to add something, I'd probably put "Got marshmallows?" on the top for a sentiment, but it still looks fine just the way you made it :)

    1. Haha! I may have a lot of stamps, but not one that says, "got marshmallows?" That made my day!

  5. Kathryn, I love the look and feel of this card! Makes me think of camping with the family when I was younger. Maybe I'd use "Thinking of You" on this card for OWH, as I'm sure many of the troops have friends or family members that they've spent time with in a place just like the scene depicted on your card. Thanks for sharing!

  6. Oh, that's beautiful! And I'll bet a LOT of our troops have spend memorable times camping with friends or family. (Oops. Just looked up and noticed Shari said the same thing, lol!) I think it looks wonderful, but, as the others have said, thinking of you, missing you, and just hello would work great. Or you could possibly do Carol's great Got Marshmallows on your computer.

  7. I love that twine! I would go with "hello" or "thinking of you" - something simple. I agree, that corner looks bare to me!

  8. Kathryn, This is a great card as is. I like both of your paper choices. I think you could use almost anything for a sentiment: hello, thinking of you, missing you and, yes, even got marshmallows that Carol suggested but I also like it the way it is.
