Flowers MWT

Although joining in OWH challenges was not one of the 2013 card making goals I set, it's been in the back of my mind that I've been slacking in this department since about mid-November.

Here's a flower card for the Midweek Throwdown.  I used an old Cuttlebug die for the flowers, inspired by several cards featuring flower dies I've seen lately.

Rachel G. set a goal to include more details/embellishments on her cards.  I thought that was an awesome goal and it caused me to add the gems to the sentiment panel and Glossy Accents to the flower centers.  Thanks, Rachel, for the inspiration!
Cards shipped to OWH in 2013: None thus far, but I will be mailing a box of 300+ blank and 140 AnyHero notes this week!
Cards shipped to OWH in 2012: 1284 blank and 218 AnyHero (as of 10/9)
Cards shipped to OWH in 2011: 1695

Check out OWH at to learn more about its mission and how to get involved.

  1. Aw, thanks Kathryn! I already forgot I said that, lol. But man it really does make a difference, this is a gorgeous card. Hopefully you'll let me know if you see me slacking. Great accent dots BTW! And I really like that flower bunch. TFS!

  2. That is a fabulous goal! I may borrow that one for a bit too... at least to get my stash more manageable! :) Love the card, and that Unity sentiment is perfect!

  3. These flowers are beautiful, and I love the dsp & sentiment panel. You mentioned how similar our cards were, and oddly enough, I thought my card resembled Jan's design too! LOL Mine was made last night before the challenge was posted, so me thinks we're all on the same wave length :)

  4. The red and black combo is fabulous! Poppies are popping up everywhere!

  5. Great card. The flowers are very interesting.

  6. Your card is so pretty and I love the background paper also. Your gems really make your sentiment pop.

  7. Your card turned out beautiful!

Thanks for playing in our Operation Write Home Midweek Throwdown challenge!
