Ho ho ho!

I bought some weird ribbon last year. It's Santa's belt repeated over and over every 4.25 inches. (Clearly not to scale, as Santa's girth would be much larger!) I had a vague idea of how I would use it, but never got excited about starting.

When I cut down some red cardstock today to 4 by 5.25", I was reminded of the ribbon and went to try it out. I used the largest scalloped circle from Spellbinders Large Scallop Ovals to make Santa's beard and embossed with Cuttlebug D'vine Swirls to give it some interest. I then cut the oval in half to make two beards. Then, I attached a rectangle of black paper (1.5" by 4") for Santa's pants. This might not be "correct" but the card looked weird without something different at the bottom. I wrapped the ribbon around the red letter. I used the "All I want for Christmas stamp" from Studio G and white chalk ink to finish the bottom of the card. Lastly, I used three brads for Santa's buttons and this card was done in a flash. I think I have enough of the ribbon for at least 40 of these, but I don't know that I'll do them all.

Do you have any suggestions for amping this card up a bit? Have you ever found a use for unusual ribbon that you were especially pleased with?
