10 paper challenge

Inspired by a conversation thread on the Operation Write Home Facebook page about buying too much paper, I decided to challenge myself to use some of my old paper in lieu of having to always buy the latest and greatest. I have an awesome paper shelving system which has 15 shelves. Most are devoted to a particular color paper and the remaining 6 or so shelves are for patterns that don't have a dominant color. I wanted to get one sheet from each color family, but I had trouble with some colors. Yellow and orange are two of my favorites for cards and so I didn't have much interesting paper left there. Without further ado, I give you my ten old papers.
Six of these papers (from left to right, numbers 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, and 10) are from the first time I remember buying scrapbook paper, way back in late 2002 or early 2003. I still remember going shopping with my mom when we were visiting my grandparents. The papers were 11 for $1 and I must have bought around 50. I came back from the store, sat on the guest room bed, and spread the papers out in front of me. I was so excited to see what I could create. Duplicates of some of these papers helped me scrap my senior year of high school, a family cruise to the Caribbean, and holiday memories. More than 8 years later, let's see what I can do with these same patterns. Briefly, I'll tell the stories of the other papers. (Am I the only one who can remember this stuff?) Oddly, I have no recollection of paper 2, but I have 6 of the sheets. Number 4 is from a graduation album kit from 2009 that I bought just for the plain black album. Number 6 is from a cat-themed kit I bought because I liked the patterned papers even though I don't like cats. This polka dot pattern is really appealing to me. Number 8 was part of a gift of scrapbooking paper to use on my France album from my friend Aimee during college.

I plan to use each paper to make a card for Operation Write Home. The paper I find hardest to use, I will send to Sandy for her Stump Sandy segment on OWHtv (Thursdays at 9:30pm EST). Which paper do you think that will be?

So, I'd like to challenge you to pick your top ten papers and use them on your cards. Look for posts in the coming days highlighting these papers. :)

Cards shipped to OWH (as of 8/2/11): 964
